Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner

DESCRIPTIONS:
-
Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health and medical history to determine appropriate treatment plans.

Diagnose patient illnesses and minor injuries, such as allergies and muscle strains or sprains.
-
Diagnose and treat diseases, physiological disorders and injuries of patients.
-
Treat patients by the insertion of acupuncture needles or through stimulation technique.
-
Administer acupuncture treatments using sterile needles in accordance withe stablished protocols.
-
Treat patients by administering, in chemical or herbal form, a small dosage of aremedy made from natural substances or by suggesting lifestyle changes.
-
Educate patients on the benefits of acupuncture and provide guidance on complementary therapies.
-
Advise patients on the use of herbs for the treatment of conditions.
-
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with medical standards.
-
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

Stay updated on advancements in acupuncture techniques and practices through continuous education.
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Able to be potentially licensed as an Acupuncturist or Chinese Medicine Practitioner in Canada.

Strong knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medical terminology and patient care practices.
-
Experience working in a hospital or clinical environment is preferred but not mandatory.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and staff.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all patients.
LANGUAGE:
-
English is the primary working language.
-
Non-native English speakers must have a CLB 5+ proficiency.

Mandarin and/or Cantonese is an asset.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine or related field.

Experience: 3 to 5 years of clinical practice in TCM, acupuncture, or herbal medicine.
